Shanan began coloring at a young age, even before learning to read or write. Unfamiliar with art theory, she delighted in scribbling on various surfaces, finding joy in the vibrancy of colorful walls over monotony.
Academic pressures diverted her focus from art, especially in a hometown where its pursuit wasn't widely encouraged. Nonetheless, she found solace in sketching intricate botanical illustrations during science class school days, a passion that spilled over into detailed drawings in her engineering notebooks, often covering for classmates too.
Fast forward to Bengaluru and her software developer life. Shanan carved out time for painting, reignited her artistic flame in 2017, and dove into the art community. Following her passion and with confidence in her artistic talent, she finally took the call to quit her IT job and honed her skills. She actively sought out workshops led by master artists, their guidance fueling her development.
Finding success with watercolors and being appreciated for niche themes, she also received inquiries on how-tos and demand for full-length tutorials. Responding to this, she offered guidance within the community. Later, she launched Skillshare classes and YouTube tutorials. Witnessing students connect with her teaching style encouraged her to conduct workshops as well. Furthermore, she collaborated with artists and endorsed a few brands. Additionally, she rolled out limited-period merchandise.
